New ad for Edenla with the cutest little boy. I am not sure I’m ready to be a young dad in real life, but I’m glad I got the chance to play one for a day.

There were probably a dozen other kids at the shoot. The 1st  hour, they were so darling; the sound of the sweet voices, bopping around w/o a care in the world. yes, my heartstrings were tugged…by the 2nd hour, I had locked myself in the bathroom. Kids are so high maintenance!  Clearly, I just don’t have that parental gene (….yet?)

I miss my Grandma terribly.  As I am finishing  Sylvia Browne’s book “Life on the Other Side”, she has been on my mind more than usual this week.  Coincidentally (or not?) today, I get a call to participate for a  national commercial for Stand Up 2 Cancer.   I tell my mom about the booking and she quietly said, “Herman, your grandma died EXACTLY 17 yrs ago tomorrow.”  I’m so touched my Grandma is still around…..

I just saw myself on TV  in the  front row audience of Judge Judy! My friend’s cousin, who works on the show, got me the primo seats (thanks Karen!). We taped half a dozen cases that day so I suspect I’ll be be seeing those episodes air soon.  I loved seeing my idol, live in action. I was blown away by how succinct she is. It is literally like you are in a court room; no re-takes, edits, light/camera adjustments, or anything else indicative of a TV production. The audience members are paid extras, but I will sit in for free anyday!

A bio-medical company has booked me for a shoot, and they want me totally smooth for close up body shots.   I immediately go to my girl Shadia, who has been my personal hair depilatory and friend for 13 years.  If you visit Shadia, you can count on 2 things:

1. She gives the quickest & best (read: painless) waxes. You’ll be silky smooth and velvety. No tears. Really!

2. On any given day, you’re practically guaranteed to see a member of the swim team or water polo team (who frequent her salon regularly) come in.  Certainly makes having every hair follicle ripped from your body more enjoyable than it already is. 

If you need to get waxed for a shoot and it’s your first time, do it a couple of days before the gig to ensure any redness/bumps go away before the big day. True, it may be photoshopped out but you might also be dismissed.

I booked a dental shoot today. I thought it’d be a run-of-the-mill low-key shoot.  After all it’s not the first time my teeth have been used for ads….

But little did I know they’d be used like this! It looks like a sex organ with teeth. Yikes!
