Happy Birthday to Yours Truly!

I celebrated my birthday (www.hermanchan.net/bdaybash) at a cozy gathering with 100+ of my closest friends. A marvelous time was had by all!

Thank you all for coming and making this an unforgettable night. Special thanks to TNT Productions,  my sponsor Roth Vodka, & helpful friendly staff and owners at  Citizen Smith Restaurant & Bar!

Hoot Hoot!

I shot a commercial for Owl International this week, where I was a busy husband at work. I started my day with Owl Instant Coffee, sustained myself with Owl Instant Tea mid-day and later ate Owl Instant Cereal for my late night at the office. It will be airing locally and nationally. I’ll upload once  I get a copy!

“I jumped over a cliff, and had to trust there was water down there”

Yes, it’s true. I finally made the move to LA. After flirting with the idea for the past year, I did succumb to the City of Angels.  My 1st month  since  plopping myself in sunny LA has been filled with reunion with many friends who I haven’t seen in years, 2 print gigs, a couple stock shoots, a real estate documentary airing on PBS 2009, an extra-stint on Vince Vaughn film “Couples Retreat”, reality TV fitness pilot, audience for  MTV Spoilers for Watchmen and more.  I  can only hope things stay busy for me…in this economy, and at MY age! I don’t know what this chapter of my life has in store for me, but I am keeping an open mind.

After interviewing with many agencies since my arrival, I am on the verge of signing with a great agency I am excited about. Details to follow! It’s a totally different ballgame down here compared to SF. I’m learning…

I’m also learning the Beauty Quotient here is  set very high! I gotta catch up ASAP. Below Master Personal Trainer Bryan Potter whips me into shape on Santa Monica Beach!

Set your TIVO’s January 5th, 2009!

HGTV has informed me that the episode I filmed for “My House is Worth What” will air on Monday, Jan. 5 pm at 7ET/PT (double check your local cable provider).  Kendra Todd (winner of “The Apprentice’) and I weigh the pros and cons of a million dollar home. I have not seen any footage of the segment so I hope I did ok! If I bombed, do me a favor & erase from your TIVOs asap. (more…)

Soul Searching…*sigh*….

I’ve been markedly absent the last 6 months.  So sorry! I know you miss me.  After lots of soul searching, badgering my friends for advice, and consulting psychics, I am poised to make a big change in my life. Stay tuned, ok? Meanwhile, just some random work in my portfolio for your perusal.

Jackpot!

I’m plastered over California again on billboards and print ads as a gambler (a role I seem to be repeatedly cast for! Why is that?)

Eat your hearts

Highlight from the Shafer Vineyards shoot in Napa was that one of my old high school friends was also booked for the gig. We had a ball catching up. We were outcasts then but  if our classmates could see us now. Eat your hearts out!
